1997 Tour de France winner Jan Ullrich said he had been doping since 1996.
The cyclist said that he had access to substances whose use could not be controlled, eurosport.de reports. Ullrich said that other athletes had used similar doping, and its use allowed for “equal opportunities” with them.
Ullrich was suspended for doping in February 2012. His results were canceled as of May 1, 2005.
