Torpedo will play away against Neftekhimik

Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo hockey players continue to play in the regular KHL championship of the 2023-2024 season. The team from Nizhny Novgorod performed well at the beginning of the season and was able to gain a foothold among the strongest in the Western Conference, however, Torpedo did not have enough physical capabilities and depth of the roster to maintain a good level of results. At the moment, Nizhny Novgorod “Torpedo” ranks 5th in the Western Conference standings, having scored 65 points based on the results of 53 matches played. Ahead of Torpedo are competitors from Moscow, Yaroslavl and St. Petersburg.
In the upcoming match of the KHL regular season, Torpedo hockey players will face opponents from Nizhnekamsk. Neftekhimik plays in the Eastern Conference and currently ranks 8th in the standings with 55 points. Neftekhimik’s place in the playoffs of the Gagarin Cup is not yet the most secure, given that Amur, in 9th position, has only 3 points less. In the last head-to-head match, Torpedo won with a score of 2:1 after extra time.
Let us remind you that the KHL regular championship match between Torpedo and Neftekhimik will take place on January 24. The meeting is scheduled to start at 19:00 Moscow time.
