Hockey players from Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo are completing the regular KHL championship for the 2023-2024 season. The team from Nizhny Novgorod had an excellent start to the regular season and for a long time laid claim to leadership in the Western Conference, but the difficult schedule and injuries to the leaders made their presence felt. At the moment, Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod is in 7th place in the Western Conference standings, having scored 74 points in 67 matches. Igor Larionov’s team is 1 point behind CSKA and can still enter 6th position.
In the final match of the regular season, Torpedo hockey players will host Lada from Togliatti at their home arena. The club from the Samara region returned to the elite of Russian hockey from the VHL and was immediately able to get into the playoffs of the Gagarin Cup, settling in 7th position in the Eastern Conference. In 67 matches, Lada was able to score 76 points and will definitely remain in 7th place, ahead of Amur from 8th position by 6 points. The last head-to-head confrontation between Torpedo and Lada ended in a victory for the Nizhny Novgorod team with a score of 4:2.
