Torpedo lost to Metallurg in the last minutes

Nizhny Novgorod hockey club “Torpedo” in the third match of the guest series in the last minutes lost to “Metallurg” (Magnitogorsk). The match ended with the score 2:1 (0:0, 0:1, 2:0).
Both teams demonstrated the game at high speeds, alternately owning the initiative. “Torpedo” spent the starting game segment more actively, creating several very dangerous chances in the first minutes. Metallurg withstood the onslaught and, with the support of their fans, were able to move the game away from their goal.
At the very beginning of the second period, Nizhny Novgorod quickly transferred the puck to the away zone with a pass, and Denis Yan outplayed Vasily Koshechkin in a head-to-head duel. The score was 0:1 in favor of Torpedo. Hockey players of “Metallurg” in the second period played three times in a row in the majority and significantly transferred Nizhny Novgorod, but our defense, led by goalkeeper Ivan Kulbakov, coped with the pressure of Magnitogorsk.
In the third period, Metallurg managed to turn the tide of the match. At the very beginning of the period, Yegor Yakovlev equalized the score, having converted a numerical majority. A minute and a half before the final siren, Artyom Minulin brought his team forward.
Igor Larionov’s wards will play the final match of the away series on October 17 in Astana against the local Barys.
