Torpedo hockey players defeated Ak-Bars in overtime

On September 28, the Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo hockey players played their next match of the KHL regular championship. Igor Larionov’s team hosted Kazan Ak-Bars at their home arena, which on September 16 inflicted the only defeat on the Nizhny Novgorod team in regular time. After that, Torpedo lost to Salavat Yulaev and broke the resistance of Dynamo Minsk and Vityaz.
The home match against Ak-Bars met the expectations of the fans and turned out to be very emotional, but not the most productive. The hosts scored a goal in the first period, and Kazan Ak-Bars responded with a goal in the third period of the game. The match went into extra time, where the main character of Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo this season took the floor. Vasily Atanasov scored the winning goal in the 1st minute of overtime.
Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo will play the next match of the KHL regular championship on September 30. On the ice of KRK Nagorny, Igor Larionov’s team will play against HC Sochi. The match is scheduled to start at 17:00 Moscow time.
