Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo hockey players continue to play in the regular KHL championship of the 2023-2024 season. On December 5, the team from Nizhny Novgorod began a series of two away matches against representatives of the Eastern Conference. The first stop on the path of Igor Larionov’s team was Togliatti, where the KHL club is again based. Lada returned to the main league of the continent after a long absence of about 5 years.
The meeting between Lada and Torpedo took place in an equal fight between two teams occupying places in the first half of the standings of their conferences. The first period ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of Lada, but the next 40 minutes were marked by the dominance of Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo. Alexey Kruchinin equalized the score in the second period, and 5 minutes before the final siren scored a double, scoring 4 goals against Lada. Thus, Torpedo won the match against Lada with a score of 4:2.
Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod will play the next match of the KHL regular championship on December 7. The start of the match against Metallurg is scheduled for 17:00 Moscow time.
