Torpedo coach Larionov commented on the team’s loss against SKA

According to Torpedo head coach Igor Larionov, the players are not mature enough. The team did not have enough experience to play aggressively on their home territory. The Nizhny Novgorod team lost to SKA on March 5 in the third match of the 1/8 Gagarin Cup with a score of 2:5, the Torpedo press service reported.
“We would like to play aggressively, but we are not yet fully matured, because all our guys are young. I don’t think any of them played at this level in the first two matches with two overtimes. In order to add aggression, you need this experience and you need strength.”,” Larionov said at the post-match press conference.
The coach believes that playing in their own zone took a lot of strength out of the team. He noted the importance of mental preparation and the ability to overcome difficulties in a tense game. The coach believes that “each player needs to do a little more than they did for this.”
After the match, SKA took the lead in the playoff series with a score of 2:1. On March 7, the teams will meet again in Nizhny Novgorod.
