President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree on the appointment of Syrym Sharipkhanov as head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The press service of Tokayev announced the new appointment.
Sharipkhanov’s candidacy has already been approved at a meeting of the Mazhilis committee on ecology and nature management.
The former head of the department, 55-year-old Yuri Ilyin, was removed from his post on the morning of June 10. The dismissal occurred against the backdrop of a situation with a large forest fire with a total area of 60 thousand hectares, which cannot be dealt with in the east of Kazakhstan for the second day.
