Tokayev appointed Olzhas Bektenov to the post of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan

A plenary meeting of the Mazhilis of Parliament was held in Kazakhstan, at which the President of the country presented the candidacy of Olzhas Bektenov for the post of Prime Minister.
Since February 2022, Bektenov has been the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He held this position until April 2023. Then, by decree of the head of state on April 3, 2023, he was appointed head of the Presidential Administration. On February 6, Olzhas Bektenov was proposed as a candidate for the post of Prime Minister by the ruling Amanat party of Kazakhstan.
Let us recall that earlier the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev dismissed the government of the country led by Alikhan Smailov. Alikhan Smailov has headed the Cabinet of Ministers since the beginning of January 2022.
