In short – at SKA-Neftyanik today is not a good day. Khabarovsk army team on their holiday, namely today the club turns 75 years old, “congratulated” Dynamo Moscow, beating with a score of 6:4 in Krasnogorsk. Moreover, the difference of only two goals turned out due to the fact that SKA added in the end and managed to catch up with the dispersed Muscovites a little. Even despite the short bench (at Dynamo, some of the players fell ill and were unable to play), the Blue-and-White managed to take revenge for defeat in the match for the Russian Super Cup.

Actually, the problems with the implementation of chances and teamwork among the Khabarovsk team were visible in the matches and with weaker opponents, but there the games could be pulled out due to individual skill, nevertheless it was clear that with serious opponents they (problems) would have to “shoot”. They fired. If in match with Vodnik managed to bring the score to a draw, then such a number did not work with a more organized Dynamo.

Muscovites’ tactics are well-known, they haven’t changed it for quite a long time – a strong, even viscous defense and instant counterattacks of an opponent who has opened up in the attack. Fortunately, Dynamo has someone to do this. One has only to go with large forces to the opponent’s half, forgetting about their defense, as you will immediately get Almaz Mirgazov, or Evgeny Filippov at your gate. And it will be very lucky if the goalkeeper manages to beat the fast and accurate hockey players.

It is possible to break through the Dynamo defense only through competent team actions in the attack, but SKA did not succeed in this. Nikita Ivanov sometimes broke through to the gates of the captain of Muscovites, but it is difficult for one player, even a very good one, to do something against the entire opposing team. The forty-four looked around for support and either had to roll back or lost the ball. Actually, it was the same with the captain of the Khabarovsk team and with other players practicing the attack.

The situation could have been corrected with the help of set pieces (with teams like Dynamo it is easier to get a corner and then score), but corners, when needed, unfortunately, did not go. Toward the end of the game Khabarovsk little by little recovered, but the time was lost. The result was an unfortunate defeat on the team’s birthday with a score of 6:4. Yes, and it was snowing in Krasnogorsk, and SKA has a difficult relationship with snow…

– Difficult weather conditions today were both for one and for the other team. Under these conditions, Dynamo did better than we did. In such conditions, it is important to win martial arts, to use standard chances – free kicks, corners. But today we didn’t have standards – one goal for 15 corners. This is not enough in such weather, because it is important that when there is a lot of accuracy, a lot of tight play here, of course, you need to squeeze more. And of course, three individual errors: in the first half – one and in the second half – two. Rough and one positional error. When such mistakes are made, of course, you will not win. What happened today. But the match consists of episodes. We had good episodes, but we didn’t get anything from them. Dynamo used their chances today and deservedly won. As for the weak movement, today we did not move as we would like. What is the reason for this – in the first half we played more cautiously, more from defense and of course this introduces into a passive sphere, into a passive movement – there is such a thing. And it is very important to lead in such a match. You lead or you lose – these are two important components and very important in this weather. Dynamo played better in the first half – they scored two goals, we were alone. In the second half we were rebuilding, but here I repeat there were individual blunders that led to goals. As for the game on the day of the 75th anniversary, of course we wanted to win. But this is a game. Today we did not succeed, – said Mikhail Pashkin, head coach of HC SKA-Neftyanik.

The Dynamo mentor quite accurately outlined what his opponents lacked today.

– The central match of the tour, since yesterday, even for two days, there was already some kind of anxiety about the state of my team after the game in Krasnoyarsk. Everything seemed to be in order. They flew in from Krasnoyarsk – minus four players. This morning I woke up – minus four. Thirty-nine temperature and in the application 12 people on the field. And then the riddle arises – how to beat Khabarovsk in twelve people? Well, they say – “team of the world”, but let’s remove this expression. The world team for me is my guys today. This is the real team of the world. We are all watching the World Cup, which is now underway, and it’s not skill, stardom, or something else that comes to the fore … game discipline, the highest limit of dedication and everything else like that come to the fore. Unity for these 90 minutes is what my guys demonstrated today. I am very proud of my team, because in twelve people to beat the current SKA-Neftyanik in its roster… no need to say: “snow”, I will not talk about snow or ice. The weather was great today and it was possible to play low today, and we played low today. There was no ping-pong of some kind, there was no one fighting somewhere. Today we played low, today we deservedly won. We caught Khabarovsk on the counterattacks, which we staked on today. Yes, there were a lot of corners. Yesterday I was specially following Khabarovsk. They crumple thirty – forty trained standards. I watched the workout. Therefore, today we blocked these corners, one flew from the rebound. But it happens.
