Boris Titov, Commissioner for the Protection of Entrepreneurs’ Rights under the President of Russia, in an interview “RIA News” stated that since February 2022, the Russian economy has been restructured. According to him, even if the EU and the US lift all sanctions against Russia, the country “will never turn to them.”

“You know, even if we imagine that Washington and Brussels will lift all sanctions from Russia tomorrow and reach out to us again, we will never turn to the West again. There will be no return, believe me. And not only because it is unacceptable to communicate with Russia in the way the West allows itself now,” said Mr. Titov.

According to him, Russia plans to develop relations with the East, since the most modern technologies are being created there and there are powerful human reserves. “And this is where our friends are, who want not just to be friends, but to develop trade and economic relations with Moscow,” the commissioner emphasized.

Boris Titov said that since February 2022, the Russian economy has been restructured and imported in several important areas. “Be that as it may, relatively speaking, since February 2022, Russia has learned to produce a lot of things itself,” said Mr. Titov. However, he noted that there are enough positions left “in which the country is still seriously behind.”

According to the Commissioner for Entrepreneurs’ Rights, raising the key rate of the Central Bank is a “serious brake on the economy” because it does not curb inflation. Boris Titov noted that in order to reduce inflationary pressure, it is necessary to establish Russian production and “produce more goods, and not less, as is the case as a result of high rates.”

First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov spoke in more detail about the current stage of adaptation of the Russian economy in an interview “Kommersant”.
