Times: British embassy in Sweden hired Boris Johnson look-alike for party

The British Embassy in Sweden celebrated the anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II in a very original way in 2022. For their own amusement, the diplomats hired look-alikes of famous pop singer Baby Spice, rocker David Bowie, and then-current Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The Times writes about it.
Moreover, the diplomats did not show much respect for the double of their prime minister. The actor was dressed up in the costume of Hannibal Lecter from The Silence of the Lambs and locked in a cage in a straitjacket and muzzle as a particularly dangerous criminal. Diplomats spent £7,000 on the actors.
The Times writes that about 60 people attended that party at the British ambassador’s residence. At the same time, the UK Foreign Office claims that none of the actors portrayed Boris Johnson.
The fun party did not find sympathy in British society. On the contrary, the story with twins caused a flurry of criticism in Foggy Albion. And the Labor Party called the event an absurd waste of taxpayers’ money.
Boris Johnson stepped down as prime minister in September last year. His place was taken by Liz Truss. She held this position for a month. As a result, the Prime Minister’s chair is now occupied by Rishi Sunak, who became the first head of the British government of Indian origin.
