In the Bystrinsky district of the Kamchatka Territory, the situation with forest fires has seriously deteriorated, the area of ​​​​which has already exceeded 2.5 thousand hectares, said the governor of the region Vladimir Solodov. According to the head of the region, two fires appeared on the hills after a recent thunderstorm front.

“The established dry and warm weather contributes to the spread of fire. Helicopters and the necessary equipment have been involved from the first day. To date, 80 people are working on fires. Recently, a group of the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived, consisting of 24 people and 11 pieces of equipment for reinforcement. Now the situation is under control, a second mineralized strip is being laid to contain the spread of the fire,”— quotes Vladimir Solodov press service of the regional government.

According to the regional authorities, there is no threat to settlements and infrastructure facilities, since the villages of Anavgay and Esso, located about 20 km from the fires, are separated from the fire by water barriers. According to local residents, the smell of smoke has been felt in the villages since the weekend.

In the Penzhinsky district, on the border with the Koryaksky state reserve in the north of Kamchatka, there are two more natural fires with a total area of ​​​​more than 6 thousand hectares. According to the regional authorities, it is also still possible to contain the spread of fire there, there is no threat to settlements and the population.

Today, restrictions on the stay of citizens in the forests operate on the territories of eight forestries in seven municipal districts of Kamchatka. The fifth, highest, fire hazard class operates on the territories of three villages.

Today, in the Far Eastern Federal District, the emergency mode in the forests has been introduced throughout the Magadan Region, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Khabarovsk Territory and in two municipalities of the Kamchatka Territory. A special fire regime operates in eight regions of the Far Eastern Federal District. There are 31 forest fires in the Khabarovsk Territory, 98 in the Magadan Region, where two fires in a nature reserve are under special control, and 121 in Yakutia. There is no threat to settlements and economic facilities. This was announced in Khabarovsk at a workshop on the forest fire situation in the Far Eastern Federal District, which was held by the head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexander Kurenkov, the press service of the EMERCOM of Russia for the Khabarovsk Territory reports.
