Three Georgian citizens were arrested in France and accused of stealing rare books by Alexander Pushkin from libraries. The Journal du Dimanche writes about this.
The suspects were detained on November 20 in Paris in connection with the theft of many original works by Pushkin from several local libraries. As the publication writes, the works of the great Russian poet have recently become especially popular on the market.
Three foreigners, 44, 24, 26 years old, are in custody at the Central Bureau for Combating the Illegal Trade in Works of Art (OCBC) in the Paris suburb of Nanterre. The investigation established that Georgian citizens belong to an organized network that is engaged in the theft of the poet’s original publications.
They are scheduled to be arraigned on November 24.
