The 25-year-old singer Charlotte (Eduard Charlotte), who was detained tonight upon his arrival from Yerevan to St. Petersburg, was charged under three administrative articles at once. This was reported by REN TV citing sources in law enforcement agencies.

According to the TV channel, administrative protocols were drawn up against Charlotte under the article on public actions aimed at discrediting the RF Armed Forces; as well as under articles about deliberate damage to an identity document and petty hooliganism.

Earlier today REN TV and Izvestia published videos of security forces leading Charlotte to Pulkovo airport. The reasons for the detention were not officially stated.

In the summer, Charlotte, already in Armenia, published a video in which he burns a Russian passport. In the same video, Charlotte condemned the fighting in Ukraine, stated that he did not consider himself a citizen of Russia and wanted to go to perform in Ukraine.

November 13 singer stated, that he plans to return to Russia and present a new album recorded in Russian. The next day, the head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Mizulina, said that she had contacted the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a request to evaluate Charlotte’s actions.
