Petersburg Figure Skating Federation President Anton Sikharulidze commented on the conflict between figure skater Elizaveta Nugumanova and coach Evgeny Rukavitsyn. He noted that he did not see a reason for the investigation.
Sikharulidze advised the athletes not to swear, but simply disperse. The President of the Figure Skating Federation in St. Petersburg believes that Nugumanova needs to find a new coach and continue her sports career.
“This happens in the world of sports, there is nothing unusual in this, I personally did not see any big wrong situation, as well as a reason for disciplinary measures,” – reports the words of Sikharulidze TASS.
After the conflict, Elena Sokolova became the new coach of the athlete.
Recall that the 19-year-old figure skater spoke about the persecution she had to face in Rukavitsyn’s group. Allegedly, she and other unnamed athletes were reproached for being overweight. After the incident, the president of the Figure Skating Federation in St. Petersburg said that he would conduct an internal investigation and talk with the participants in the conflict.
Earlier, in an interview with MK in St. Petersburg, the athlete said that no one from the federation after leaving Rukavitsyn with her didn’t talk. All organizational issues were resolved by Tatyana Menshikova, director of the St. Petersburg Figure Skating School.
