Deputy of the lower house of parliament Mikhail Matveev proposes to tighten the rules for issuing permits for hunting weapons. Today, a draft law that involves a number of changes to the Law “On Weapons” was submitted to the State Duma.
The parliamentarian proposes to prohibit the issuance of such permits to new Russian citizens immediately after acquiring citizenship. If the law is passed, they will be able to obtain a permit for smooth-bore weapons no earlier than 5 years after they become citizens, rifled weapons – no earlier than 10 years. Today, citizens can obtain a permit for rifled weapons no earlier than 5 years after they receive a permit for smooth-bore weapons.
In addition, the deputy proposes not to issue permits to those citizens who are not registered with the military at their place of residence.
