“They banned something, I don’t know what” – Kommersant FM

The actual ban on LGBT movements in Russia was criticized at the UN and in many world capitals. Previously, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized the corresponding structure as extremist. The meeting was held behind closed doors, in the absence of any representatives of the defendant. Journalists were allowed into the hall only for the announcement of the final decision. According to State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein, ordinary citizens have nothing to fear. Kommersant FM political commentator Dmitry Drize is waiting for legal clarifications from the authorities.

Alexander Khinshtein, after the final and irrevocable ban on the international LGBT movement on the territory of the Russian Federation, came out with a small explanation. A State Duma deputy said literally the following: “There is no talk of introducing censorship or government interference in the personal lives of citizens. The Supreme Court’s decision is necessary to enforce the prohibition on aggressive LGBT propaganda, advertising and recruiting new members into the LGBT movement.”

We really thank the parliamentarian for this, otherwise we didn’t know what to think anymore. At least somehow, he calmed me down. They banned something in our country, I don’t know what. It did not come to the court itself, and it is not clear where it is located; the legal address was not indicated. And the details are classified.

It is only known that the Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit. Maybe everything is not so terrible, but the unknown is always scary. After all, citizens who have stumbled face significant sentences.

They will stop you on the street and ask: aren’t you, dear man, part of this very movement? And what to answer, what to object if no one knows what it is or what it looks like?

Nevertheless, we will try to decipher the decision made, if there is no one else. So it seems that doing the same thing physically is not forbidden, they will not go from house to house and check. And how can I check this? Unless the neighbors report it. But how can you prove it later?

However, the main thing is that you cannot extract political meaning from all this, join this international movement: they say, look, this is what I am, come with me – you will not regret it. This is prohibited.

As for the rest, everything is possible with us, even this. But if it’s quiet, if you don’t advertise and especially don’t try to stand out. You can’t go against the flow, you need to be like everyone else, without sticking out. If you follow these simple rules, everything will be fine, and you will even make a good political career. Who knows what weaknesses? Our state judges fairly.

However, all these are just guesses and free interpretations. Legal explanations are completely absent today. These are the words of Deputy Khinshtein – his personal opinion.

What awaits us all now? What is aggressive propaganda, especially “recruitment of new members”? Paper never hurts; for everything there must be an appropriate document, as they say, for the sake of order.
