Comedian Valery Ponomarenko constantly follows the events in the NVO zone. The artist told Moskovsky Komsomolets correspondents about the case on the front line, connected with the icon of Nikolai Ugodnik.
– Recently, my good friend Yura Galtsev was in the hospital and saw our wounded sniper there, – says Valery. – He asked him: “How did the injury happen?”
It turned out that he and the Ukrainian, let’s say, opponent hunted each other for a long time. “So we took aim at each other and fired at the same time,” said our fighter. – I was injured. On the other side, silence, no movement.”
“When our fighter crawled to the position of the Ukrainian to check what was happening there, he remembered his mother, who gave him the icon of St. Nicholas the Pleasant,” continues Ponomarenko. – And at that moment he thought that it was Nikolai Ugodnik who saved him. He saw a Ukrainian sniper killed. And in his hands he had the same icon of St. Nicholas.
– It’s terrible that in fact the Russian people were turned against the Russians, – Ponomarenko sighs. – I see Ukrainian prisoners – completely ordinary guys. They have been pumped with hatred for many years. But in captivity, they quickly begin to understand what’s what.
