Schoolchildren will not be allowed to use a calculator on the Unified State Exam in mathematics, the head of Rosobrnadzor Anzor Muzaev said in an interview with RIA Novosti. This is how he commented on the demo version of the OGE in mathematics, according to which schoolchildren can use a non-programmable calculator.

As Mr. Muzaev clarified, there is a large number of approved and permitted reference materials for each subject. “The decisions are made not by Rosobrnadzor employees, not by Anzor Akhmedovich Muzaev, but by specialists from this field, who have been studying this issue day and night, for years, in fact, since their student days,” the head of the department assured.

According to him, experts study the country’s experience, look at the dynamics of the development of the subject, and all decisions are made with the goal of “maintaining and improving the quality of education.” “What we see is that we measure all-Russian tests, and exams in ninth grades and 11th grades, participation in international studies, a national study of the quality of education, this is a “hospital temperature thermometer”,”— added Anzor Muzaev.

Mid November were published demo versions of test measuring materials for the OGE in mathematics. According to them, from 2024 schoolchildren will be allowed to use a non-programmable calculator. Previously, it was possible to use rulers that did not contain any information and reference materials provided by the examiners.
