Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Medvedev compared “mythical” Ukraine with the “Sannikov Land”
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev wrote in his telegram channel that “the Ukrainian junta keeps talking that the condition for negotiations is reaching some of their 1991 borders.” And he called Ukraine “Sannikov’s Land”.
The politician explained that the borders of 1991 are “the borders of the regions of Russia and once the provinces of the Russian Empire, and not the mythical Ukraine.”
He added that “Ukraine is Sannikov Land, founded by Lenin,” which “didn’t last long and disappeared from the map.”
Medvedev also said that “whatever the West and the occupied Russian city of Kyiv may think,” “there is no such land.”
Earlier, the head of the Zaporozhye movement “We are together with Russia”, Volodymyr Rogov, equated the return of Ukraine to the 1991 borders with being in the same state with the Russian Federation, responding to the plans of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine within the 1991 borders. Rogov called Zelensky’s initiative “excellent” and explained: “because in 1991 we were in the same state, the capital of which was the city of Moscow.”
