There is a record, or How long is a dog’s tongue

The English Setter has set the world record for the longest tongue dog at 9.5 centimeters.
One of the newest entries in the Guinness Book of World Records can give you a slobbering dog kiss from nearly 10 centimeters away.
A three-year-old English setter named Bisbee from Tucson, Arizona holds the world record for longest dog tongue.
Bisbee’s tongue, measuring 9.5 centimeters, falls out of his mouth like a flap when he breathes.
Dog tongues serve as important temperature regulators.
Bisbee’s owners, Jay and Erica Johnson, who have kept him since he was a puppy, said family members immediately realized that the length of his tongue was unusual: “I sent a photo of him panting to my sister and my father, and one of them mentioned that this could be a world record, ”said the owner.
“His tongue is not noticeable unless he is choking – when he is choking and tired, he falls out and hangs down,” the owner explained.
Macroglossia is the medical term for an abnormally large tongue and is a rare condition that can often cause problems in a puppy.
Dogs with unusually long tongues may experience breathing problems and may need assistance to pick up objects off the floor with their mouths. They can also make a mess during dinner, as the food they lap from their bowl can fly a meter away, or injure themselves by biting their tongue.
However, Bisbee’s tongue is no match for that of another dog named Moti, a female St. Bernard whose tongue measured 18.58 cm.
Moti, a Colorado rescue dog, held the record for five years but passed away in October 2021.
But both pale in comparison to the longest dog tongue on record, which belonged to a boxer named Brandy.
Brandi’s tongue reached an incredible size of 43 cm, and it had to be constantly protected from sunburn and dryness with a spray bottle. Brandi lived in St. Clair Shores, Michigan until her death in September 2002.
