There are not enough taxi drivers in Russia
[ad_1]
In the second half of this year, demand for taxis in Russia recovered to the level of 2021, according to a study by the Analytical Center for the Russian Government. However, according to experts, the industry is facing a serious labor shortage, which has increased to 72,000 people. The total number of taxi licenses also decreased by 13.6% after the new taxi law came into force.
As Vedomosti clarifies, during the peak season, in December, the industry will need even more drivers – 80,000 people. Only this number of drivers will be able to balance supply and demand, as well as stabilize prices.
Experts from the Government Think Tank added that the new figure could include both replacing departing drivers due to high turnover, as well as additional drivers to compensate for turnover in the near term.
