The Czech publication iRozhlas, citing Estonian authorities, reports that there are not enough funds to purchase shells for Ukraine within the framework of the Czech initiative. At the same time, some of the ammunition may not reach Kyiv until the end of the year.

Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said that although a number of countries have already contributed to the initiative, funds are still lacking. In addition, purchased shells need to be checked, so some of them may not reach the front before the end of the year.

The article says that in total about 1.5 million shells were found for Ukraine, which is twice as many as expected. However, due to high demand, the price of shells on the market turned out to be twice as high as expected.

So far, Prague has received funds from the allies to purchase the first 300 thousand shells. The purchase of another half a million rounds of ammunition is in the works. It is expected that the first batch will be delivered to Ukrainian troops in June.
