In the Primorsky Territory the situation is returning to normal after extensive floods. As reported today Ministry of Emergency Situations across the region, water has left all private houses and basements of apartment buildings. Only seven residential areas in Dalnerechensk remain flooded.

However, 70 people, including 15 children, continue to be in two temporary accommodation centers in Ussuriysk and Artyom. “Water levels continue to decline on the rivers of the Primorsky Territory. The banks of the rivers Ussuri, in the middle reaches, and Bolshaya Ussurka and Ilistaya, in the lower reaches, remain flooded. The rest of the rivers are in their banks,” the department informs.

In August, heavy rains in the Primorsky Territory led to large-scale floods. On August 15, a regional emergency was declared in the region. On August 25, the state of emergency was raised to the federal level.

On September 3, at a meeting chaired by the Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev, it was stated that a total of 23 municipalities were affected by floods in Primorye, 5.6 thousand residential buildings and 10.2 thousand household plots were flooded in 105 settlements , 46 bridges were damaged. More than 44 thousand residents of the region suffered from the flood. The Primorye authorities estimated the damage to the region at 10 billion rubles. Six people died due to the floods.
