About 163,000 observers will be able to attend polling stations on voting days, Ella Pamfilova, chairwoman of the Central Election Commission, said at the information center CEC of Russia. Representatives of political parties, public associations and the public chamber will observe the voting process. Foreign observers are not present at these elections.
“We are interested in the effective work of observers, aimed primarily at identifying, preventing and preventing various kinds of violations during voting, at strict observance of all electoral procedures, improving the work of election commissions, and at preventing provocations and attempts to destabilize work at polling stations,”— said Mrs. Pamfilova.
In total, 162,898 people are included in the lists of observers, including 63,597 from parties and public associations, 47,755 from candidates, and 51,546 from regional public chambers.
Today, September 9, in 82 subjects of the Russian Federation started elections of various levels, they will end on Sunday, September 11th. In Moscow, in particular, elections of deputies of municipalities will be held. Remote electronic voting is used in Moscow, Kaliningrad, Kaluga, Kursk, Novgorod, Pskov, Tomsk and Yaroslavl regions.
From the very beginning of voting, massive hacker attacks on electronic voting systems were recorded. Because of this, the work of the electronic voter register was temporarily slowed down, and ballots were not issued at some polling stations.
