Therapist at the Central Clinical Hospital of the Office of the President of Russia Polina Yermolova told the portal Moscow 24 is about the most dangerous mistakes that people make to bring down the temperature.
According to the therapist, it is not recommended to drink more than four grams of paracetamol per day: otherwise, an overdose may occur, which is characterized by high blood pressure, toxic liver damage and acute renal failure. Yermolova advised to alternately use various antipyretics, as well as alternate forms of one drug: for example, syrups, suppositories, tablets and capsules.
The doctor also said that you should not bring down the relatively low temperature, 37.5 degrees, at which nausea and headache most often appear. Instead, Yermolova suggested that you be patient and take an antipyretic only after the temperature reaches 38.6 degrees, this will help the body effectively neutralize viruses.
In addition, the doctor said that the ban on bathing during illness is a harmful myth. Although hot baths are still not recommended for sick people, there is nothing wrong with standing in the shower. On the contrary, water procedures will help wash off sweat, in which bacteria easily multiply.
The doctor also called the desire to clog the space from any fresh air a mistake – the room must be ventilated at least five times a day.
