Theater “Workshops” with a debut!

A new independent Theater “Workshops” appeared in our capital. This is a talented team of graduates of GITIS and the Higher School of Performing Arts: actors and directors from the theater workshops of Sergei Zhenovach, Vladimir Pankov, Konstantin Raikin, Alexander Koruchekov and Oleg Kudryashov. The first premieres have already passed. They play their performances at various venues and in different cities.
The history of this unusual theater began with auditorium 39, located on the third floor of the directing department of GITIS, through which many actors and directors of the Masterskikh theater passed. First, Yegor Trukhin’s Hamlet was born. The performance was a resounding success at GITIS, then became an independent theatrical project and was shown not only in Moscow, but also at the theater festivals “The Future of Theater Russia” in Yaroslavl, the international “Shakespeare Festival” in Yerevan, the festival “Tower” in Kaliningrad and at festival
“Your chance” in the capital. In addition to Hamlet, the repertoire of the Workshops also includes Murat Abulkatinov’s performance (directed by Sergey Zhenovach’s workshop), staged together with graduates of Konstantin Raikin’s workshop L’impression. Garden”, the play “Belated Flowers” by Sergei Tonyshev (a graduate of Sergei Zhenovach) was staged together with graduates of the Vladimir Pankov Workshop as part of the Chekhov Collaboration project of the Center for Drama and Directing.
On the stage of the “Inside” space, the premiere of the play “Belated Flowers” based on the story of the same name by Chekhov took place. Sergei Tonyshev is not a debutant in his field: he staged the performances My Life (Moscow Art Theater named after A.P. Chekhov), Bobok (Russian Army Theater), The Legend of Hamlet (Surgut Music and Drama Theater). Belated Flowers is the story of an impoverished princely family and Dr. Toporkov. According to the director, the story is called the ancestor of Chekhov’s dramaturgy, here you can also hear The Cherry Orchard with the theme of a house that is dying. And “Ivanov” with love, which always comes at the wrong time, and “The Seagull” – with the tragic impossibility of happiness.
The play was staged talentedly, unusually, with excellent performances by Alexander Antipenko, Daria Alypova, Gleb Romashevsky, Olga Baltskaya, Eduard Miller, Polina Sinilnikova. Musical arrangement – Daria Alypova

The new theater appeared in our troubled time – a youth theater, incredibly talented, judging by the first shows on Moscow venues. Success to the children, devoted spectators, performances worthy of their famous teachers!
