Interregional class “B” boxing competition “Youth of Sakhalin” started on November 9 at the Kristall sports complex. 80 athletes from the Primorsky and Khabarovsk territories, the Amur region and the island region are competing for the prizes of the tournament, the regional Ministry of Sports reported.
This year the “Youth of Sakhalin” competition is being held for the twelfth time. The main judge of the competition is the USSR Master of Sports in Boxing Nikolai Slishchuk.
The tournament is held in two age groups. Juniors born in 2006-2007 will face fights consisting of three rounds of three minutes each. Boys born in 2008-2009 fight three rounds of two minutes each.
On the first day of the competition, qualifying matches took place. On November 10, athletes will hold semi-final fights, starting at 15:00. The final and award ceremony will take place on November 11 from 11:00 to 16:00.
Previously “MK on Sakhalin” wrotethat the island athlete Gleb Soloviev won the world championship in Thai boxing, which took place in Kemer in Turkey. More than 1,000 fighters from 77 countries competed for the competition awards.
