The All-Russian competition “Youth Cup” in luge ended in Sochi. The tournament was hosted by the Sanki Luge Center in Krasnaya Polyana.
More than 90 athletes from 7 regions of Russia took part in the competition. Both individual competitions and team competitions were held.
David Chamyan and Yaroslav Ordov from the Krasnodar Territory became the winners in the 16-17 year old men’s double sleigh tournament with a time of 1 minute 18.211 seconds.
Kuban athletes Daria Vereskun and Nicole Dreval (1.20.291) became bronze medalists in similar competitions among girls.
There were 7 teams in the team tournament. The second place was taken by athletes from the Krasnodar Territory Nikita Shalaginov, Nicole Dreval, David Chamyan / Yaroslav Ordov. The team of the Perm Territory won, the Krasnoyarsk Territory became the third winner.
