The countries of the world began to respond to the appeal of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who announced on September 21 the beginning of a partial mobilization of the country’s citizens for military service.

A number of countries expressed support for a peaceful solution to the situation in Ukraine. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the parties to the conflict to engage in dialogue and resolve the concerns of all parties in the field of security. Hungary also spoke in favor of early negotiations.

US President Joe Biden stressed that Washington did not intend to conflict with Russia. He also noted the inadmissibility of the use of nuclear weapons. At the same time, the United States stated that they did not recognize the results of the referendums in the Donbass and the liberated territories of Ukraine.

French President Emmanuel Macron called the news about the partial mobilization in Russia “bad” and noted that Putin’s decision would lead to greater isolation of Russia. True, it is enough to look at the photos from the recent SCO summit to understand that Russia’s isolation is very far away.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also criticized the start of partial mobilization in Russia. He felt that such a measure would make “even worse”. Turkey, in turn, emphasized that Ankara is a consistent supporter of peace talks.
