Russian President Vladimir Putin is not bluffing when he talks about protecting the country by all means in case of threats to use nuclear weapons against it, Serbian leader Aleksandar Vucic said.

“As President of Serbia, I can only say that we hope that peace will come and everyone will do everything in their power to find a compromise solution, because it is much better than waiting for the defeat of the other side. Since I have met with President Putin many times, I don’t think he is bluffing.” noted Vučić on air on Newsmax TV channel.

Vučić added that Serbia traditionally has good ties with Russia and Ukraine. At the same time, he stressed that Belgrade supports the territorial integrity of all countries of the world.

“We have a different attitude towards Russia and some other issues, but we must also pay attention to opportunities for improving our energy sector, how to diversify our commitments to energy supply sources,” the Serbian president concluded.

During his address to citizens on the issues of referendums in the territories of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics (LPR and DPR), Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, Putin said that Western countries had launched “nuclear blackmail”, calling on Kyiv to transfer hostilities to the territory of Russia.

At the same time, the head of state noted that in the event of a threat to the territorial integrity of the country, all available means of protection would be used. He emphasized that “this is not a bluff.” He promised that “the territorial integrity of our Motherland, our independence and freedom will be ensured.”
