The World Polyathlon Championship started in Kaluga

On Monday, September 12, the World Polyathlon Championship started in Kaluga. The competition brought together 150 strongest athletes from 7 countries, according to the regional Ministry of Sports.
The opening ceremony was held at the Tsentralny Sports Palace. The event began with a performance by the musical group “Your Chance”. Athletes from the sports school of the Olympic reserve “Yunost” performed demonstration numbers.
The championship program includes performances in five disciplines. Sprint and swimming competitions have already taken place today, and a grenade throw is scheduled for Tuesday. On September 14, shooting will take place, and on the final day of the competition, an endurance run and closing of the tournament will take place. The awarding of the best will take place on September 15 at 15:00. Free admission.
The Polyathlon World Championship is being held in Kaluga for the first time. Its participants are athletes from Russia, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Belarus, as well as Cameroon, Tunisia, Morocco and India. The competition will take place from 12 to 16 September at three venues in Kaluga: the Tsentralny Sports Palace, the Yunost Stadium, and the Mnogoborets sports school.
The polyathlon began with the all-around of the TRP complex. Currently, polyathlon is not included in the number of Olympic sports, but is popular in many countries of the world.
Polyathlon is a sport that includes several types of all-around sports.
