The reception of flights at Moscow’s Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports was temporarily limited to ensure flight safety. Now the airports of Moscow and the Moscow region are operating normally. This was reported in press service Rosaviatsia.
The Federal Air Transport Agency did not specify the reasons for the introduction of restrictions. Six flights were sent to alternate airports: three to Sheremetyevo, two to Nizhny Novgorod and one to St. Petersburg.
The restrictions were in effect until 04:30 Moscow time today, August 20. After their cancellation, the passengers of the diverted flights were taken to their destination airports.
Previously Ministry of Defense Russia and the mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin reported that at about 04:00 on the way to Moscow in the Stupinsky district, a drone was detected and neutralized. He fell in a deserted place, there were no victims or injured. Around 03:00 TASS informedthat Vnukovo and Domodedovo restricted the reception of aircraft.
