One of the main educational events in the country is coming to an end: the selection of the best, kindest, most competent and wise person, in other words, the winner of the “Teacher of the Year” competition. In 2023, 15 teachers reached the finals of the competition. On October 5, the top five will be determined, and in the evening the name of the main winner will be announced in the Kremlin Palace.
“If the gods want to punish a person, they make him a teacher.” This phrase is attributed to the philosopher Seneca. But one of the competition laureates, Kirill Bazyuk, a physical education teacher from Tomsk, categorically disagrees with her.
– This is my path, to be a teacher! This job allows me to do good. Every day as a teacher is different and there is always the opportunity to discover something new in yourself, in others and in the world, – Kirill Sergeevich is sure.
Kirill devoted 12 years to athletics and “jumped” to become a candidate for master of sports. Fit, in excellent physical shape. The girls pine for the physical education teacher, but he, as they say at his home school, is “the face of morality.”
– Kirill studied at our school. Of course, like all boys, he was naughty. We never thought that we would return to our native walls as a teacher. “This is a great pride for us,” they say about Kirill Sergeevich at school No. 43 in Tomsk.
Another finalist, Sergei Valyugin, teaches Russian and literature at the Moscow School named after F.M. Dostoevsky.” The name of the educational institution obliges – Sergei Viktorovich is fundamentally concerned with the matter.
“There is a lot in the theory of the Russian language, in linguistics that brings it closer to mathematics, to a certain system of signs, so the Russian language as a school subject is primarily aimed at shaping the thinking and developing the logic of students,” the finalist of the competition is sure.
In his free time from sowing reasonable, kind and eternal times, a teacher from Moscow likes to run a marathon. “Sometimes it’s easier than teaching a lesson,” says Sergei Valyugin.
For primary school teacher Olga Pireeva from the Kemerovo region, her beloved grandmother was her authority. She helped me choose a profession.
– As a child, I was a rebel and a leader, I often heard the words of my grandmother: “You are responsible, fair, observant, you know how to find a common language with people. You would be a good teacher,” said Olga Pavlovna.
At school No. 2 in the city of Kaltan, Kemerovo region, the lights are on in her classroom until late. Either notebooks or crafts for the next “World around us”.
– I’am a teacher! I am firmly on my path. My confident step gives confidence to my students, Olga Pireeva is convinced.
It is believed that teaching is a female profession. The teaching staff in each school is staffed mainly by the weaker sex. However, it was mostly men who made it to the finals of the “Teacher of the Year” competition: ten of the 15 laureates. Teachers will find out who will reach the finish line on Thursday. The winner will be awarded a prize – the Crystal Pelican, and a cash prize of 1 million rubles. Two winners will receive a prize of 500 thousand rubles.
