The winners of the Beringia.Avacha race were awarded in Kamchatka

The governor presented cups, medals and cash certificates to the mushers who showed the best time in the race.

“The Beringia festival is gaining momentum. We have already met the finishers of the Avacha race, and sprint races have started in the Valley of Comfort. “Yelizovsky Sprint” is dedicated to the Year of the Family. Being together, being a family – we put these principles into practice,” said V. Solodov.

He also awarded the winners in the disciplines “narta-long distance 8 dogs” and “narta-long distance more than 8 dogs”.

The winners in the “sledge-long distance 8 dogs” discipline were:

Anna Semashkina (Kamchatka Territory), overall result 21:46:06;

Anastasia Semashkina (Kamchatka Territory), overall result 22:15:08;

Maria Fedorova (Vladimir region), overall result 23:17:40.

Results in the discipline “sled-long distance over 8 dogs”:

Vyacheslav Demchenko (Moscow region), overall result 20:31:33;

Andrey Semashkin (Kamchatka Territory), overall result 20:35:01;

Alexander Krivogornitsyn (Kamchatka Territory), overall result 21:28:18.

The winners in the 2 dogs long distance skiing discipline were:

Viktor Mayorov (Yaroslavl region), 3 hours 58 minutes (overall result 22:37:02);

Marina Balysheva (Irkutsk region), 5 hours 28 minutes (overall result 26:59:04);

Alexey Mashkovtsev (Irkutsk region), 6 hours 19 minutes (overall result 32:40:14).

Vladimir Solodov also opened the Yelizovo Sprint sled dog race, the main difference of which from other satellites of the big Beringia is that this race takes place through the streets of the city of Yelizovo.

Then the ceremonial start was given in the Valley of Comfort; spectators watched part of the race right on the streets of the city of Elizovo: the teams walked along the streets of Vitaly Kruchina, 40 Let Oktyabrya and Grishechko, after which they finished again in the Valley of Comfort. The total distance of the race is 10 kilometers.

The head of the Kamchatka Territory also toured the festival grounds – a photo exhibition telling about the sports dynasties of the region, the “Staying Alive” location, where rescuers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations told guests how to survive if you find yourself alone in a winter forest. In addition, Solodov attended a master class on weaving camouflage nets and making trench candles and dry foods for military personnel located in the zone of a special military operation.

The central event of the Beringia festival is the traditional Kamchatka dog sled race, which this year starts from the village of Esso. On March 2 there will be a prologue race and a big celebration for spectators. On March 3, the mushers will go on a multi-day journey. Their route will first pass along the western coast of the peninsula, after which the participants will overcome the pass and will walk along the eastern coast of Kamchatka to Ust-Kamchatsk. On average, this race takes 3 weeks to complete.
