The winner of the “Smart Cinema” project made a film about the journey from Moscow to Vladivostok by train

The winner of the “Smart Cinema” project of the Russian society “Knowledge” Dmitry Kvashin, together with the creative team, made a documentary film about the journey from Moscow to Vladivostok by train. The film is called “Slow Train”. It tells how a group of friends traveled from the capital of Russia to the Far East to see the ocean. On the way, they will have interesting meetings, road adventures, the beauty of their native nature, as well as understanding what their own self is.

According to Dmitry Kvashin, the idea to make such a film appeared eight years ago, when he first learned that it was possible to get from Moscow to Vladivostok by electric trains.

“Such a journey then seemed to me something incredible. This year, thanks to a competition and a grant, I was able to implement this idea with my team. It was not easy to find heroes who would agree to such a journey, because it is only fun at first glance. In fact, this is a many-week exhausting expedition that took us three weeks,” said Dmitry Kvashnin.

In the documentary, three friends visited dozens of cities during their trip, in particular, they visited Nizhny Novgorod, Bor, Kazan, Sviyazhsk, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Tagil, the village of Monzino, Krasnoyarsk, the famous Krasnoyarsk Pillars, Divnogorsk, Irkutsk, Slyudyanka, Baikalsk, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok and Russian Island.

Filming has already been completed and editing is underway. It is assumed that the film will be included in the program of the Moscow festival “Smart Cinema”, which will be held in 2023. The film will also be available online.
