The winner of the “Battle of psychics” convicted of fraud was denied release on parole

The well-known “sorcerer” at one time, the winner of the 22nd season of the “Battle of Psychics” Maxim Nikolaev (Levin), convicted in 2022, asked for early release. This was reported by the United press service of the judicial system of St. Petersburg.

Recall that he received a term for fraud on an especially large scale, committed with an accomplice. The men organized a firm that allegedly traded in souvenirs, as well as products of folk and artistic crafts. The attackers entered into supply contracts for two large companies of large quantities of souvenirs. From one they received 4,476,525 rubles, from the other – 6,074,955 rubles, but the goods were not delivered. The companies went to court, during the trial Nikolaev disappeared. When he ended up in the dock, he received 3 years in a general regime colony and the obligation to reimburse 63 million rubles.

Recently, the Kolpinsky District Court considered the petition for his parole. The lawyer of the psychic pointed out that Nikolaev had served more than half of the prescribed term, embarked on the path of correction and partially compensated for the damage. To which the court reasonably objected that he took the path of correction only 49 days ago, and compensated for the damage only for 53 thousand rubles. “Perhaps, Nikolaev foresaw such a development of events, since he filed another petition, but this time about replacing the punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty with forced labor,” the press service notes.
