I consider this to be inaction and negligence on the part of the authorities, since we are talking about a young child and the theft of a large amount of money.”

Forty years they do not celebrate, they say, a bad omen. Ivan is 40 months away. He returned alive. It seems that you can no longer believe in bad omens …

Lived happily ever after

Khabin was called up for military service on mobilization on September 27, 2022. Prior to that, he worked as an electrician in a depot. Less than two months later, on November 23, 2022, as part of his participation in a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, he came under fire and received a blind shrapnel wound to his thigh. Was in the hospital.

“I really wanted to go home,” Ivan admits. There, at home, his wife Olga and a five-year-old son were waiting. She says she loves them more than life itself.

The wife is first and last. The only one. Married late. At 33. There were a lot of things in my youth. I chose for a long time. To be sure – once and for all. Then he settled down. And their son had already been born, and everything, as it seemed to him, was going well. True, I didn’t have my own apartment, they rented it free of charge from my sister, and there were no free funds to take out a mortgage.

“When I left for the NWO, everything was in order, although, as it happened, Olga did not see me off and did not meet me,” the man sighs. “I left her, as expected, a mobile phone with a bank application so that she could buy groceries herself, refuel the car, pay bills, and buy what she needs for my son with my salary.”

During the period of participation in the special operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and during the period of treatment, Ivan Khabin received the monthly payments required by law, and on the basis of a certificate of injury, he was promptly transferred a lump sum payment in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated 05.03.2022 No. 98 ” On additional social guarantees for military personnel, persons serving in the troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, and members of their families” in the amount of 3 million rubles.

In total, according to his explanation, five cash payments were made to the account of I.N. Khabin, with a total complexity of about 800 thousand rubles. From October 18 to December 28, 2022.

“Naturally, I trusted Olga and did not think how and where she would spend money. She is my wife. How could it be otherwise? – a question to a question, a little nervous, my interlocutor answers. – During the two months that I was there, we called up a little. It was not possible. She could not call me at all, and I – when they were allowed. He dialed from the hospital, said that he was wounded, she was upset, she cried.

He says he felt like something had changed in their relationship. Broken. But what and when exactly – he could not understand and did not want to believe. “I called her once, and she didn’t have time to talk to me at all. Of course, this pissed me off. Because you need to understand where the husband is calling from. But in general, everything was fine. Write that we lived happily ever after. As they say, three years are happy, and the rest are long.

Ivan sends me their joint photos, everywhere together, side by side. In all the pictures he hugs her. And she so – it is clear that allows. Maybe they accidentally came across such photos, I don’t know.

The enterprise where Ivan worked before the draft petitioned, and after a serious injury, he was fired for a “citizen”. The fragment was removed and cured already at home.

It follows from Ivan’s story that his wife did not just spend money from his card, but during all those months that he was in Ukraine, she transferred his salary to her card. He learned about it already at home. After receiving a payment of three million within three days, from December 28 to December 30, 2022, the spouse, according to Khabin, also sent this money to her account – one million a day. That is, to say that a woman acted in a state of passion, for example, being offended by her husband for something and deciding in her hearts to “punish” him in this way, is hardly possible – usually the affect does not last several days.

From an appeal to law enforcement agencies: “Upon returning to Yekaterinburg, I learned that Khabina O.V. after receiving an SMS notification about the receipt of wages and social payments to my account, she transferred all the funds received to her account through the bank application.

If the salary of the spouses is considered by law to be jointly acquired property and is divided in half, then the social payment received by the military is only his personal property and does not fall under the signs of the general income of the spouses in accordance with the Family Code of the Russian Federation.

Did Olga understand that the last three million did not belong to her at all? Ignorance of the law, as you know, does not exempt from responsibility.

“When I found out what she had done, I asked for a refund of half of the salary transferred to my account and the full social benefit, but she refused. And on March 20, she disappeared altogether in an unknown direction along with her child. And I don’t know where they are, what’s wrong with them.”

Ivan suggests that the spouse could be upset by the fact that he wanted to purchase the long-awaited living space with this money and arrange it only for himself – as provided by law, but this is not a reason to “steal money from a bank account on an especially large scale.”

On the same day that Olga disappeared, her husband filed an application with the police department No. 10 of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Yekaterinburg about embezzlement of funds. The next day, Ivan filed another application – about the loss of a joint child. And got rejected everywhere. Family matters – take care of yourself.

“It’s been two weeks now. The police don’t want to look for anyone, they don’t lift a finger. I have an only son. I don’t know where he is. I fought. But they don’t care, ”Ivan worries.

Everything is more or less clear with the child, they won’t look for him without a special reason, the mother and father have equal rights, and if one of them wants to take the baby with them, this is not a crime. There are thousands of such cases in Russia! It only remains to negotiate in a civilized way and decide with whom the boy will remain, and the procedure for communicating with him, through the court. But the question of military payments is, of course, more interesting.

Naturally, I asked the man if he was sure that Olga voluntarily left their house. Still, she had a large sum. Perhaps she was deceived? Or kidnapped? “I don’t know what to think here,” Ivan breaks into a cry. – You understand, I’m shaking all over. And the police didn’t care, they refused me.”

No divorces on SVO

The story of the Ural sergeant Ivan Khabin, unfortunately, is not the only one. Big money sometimes spoils people. And women in this case are no exception.

So, in January, in the Murmansk region, the bride threw a mobilized soldier for half a million rubles. Seeing off: I love – I can’t. And after the groom transferred the accumulated funds to her, she fled. The fighter, deceived in the best of feelings, who dreamed of spending payments on a magnificent wedding, wrote a statement to the police, a girl named Ekaterina was put on the wanted list.

Katya was looking for the whole city. They wrote her messages on social networks, asked to respond. After all, it can’t be. But what about the song about Katyusha, who loved on the steep bank, waited and took care of the letters?

In Moscow, the mother of the mobilized accused his ex of fraud, as she spent all her son’s savings.

According to preliminary data, in the fall of 2022, a 22-year-old young man was sent to the SVO. He left his bank card to the girl, allowed him to withdraw money for renting an apartment, food and travel. However, the rest of the purchase asked to coordinate with him.

At the end of February 2023, the mother of the mobilized Muscovite checked his bank account and saw that all the money had disappeared from him. The woman told her son about it. The young man demanded that his beloved return the card and valuables, but she did not. After that, the mother wrote a statement to the police on the fact of fraud.

Even earlier, a contract soldier from Sakhalin, who lost a limb in battle, was disappointed in love. The guy has awards: the medal “For Courage”, the Order of Courage. The right hand was torn off by a mine, fragments pierced the lungs and ribs.

The young man said that he was betrayed by the bride, with whom he lived happily for three years. According to the man, he left the card on which the soldier’s salary was credited to her. When an SMS came about the transfer of a large cash payment for the injury, as if anticipating something, he changed the pin code. And soon a message came that someone, using the old pin code, was trying to withdraw a very large amount from the account. The man called the girl and heard: “Well, do I need to get dressed ?!”

“I don’t understand what happened to her. We loved each other so much, she was so gentle and affectionate, and how these millions loomed, as if they had changed.

Is it possible to get a divorce at all if the other half is in the NWO zone? Even numerous lawyers who advise specifically on these topics have become more active. That is, the service is in high demand. Although divorce in this situation is quite problematic, even by mutual desire.

From 2023, lawsuits with citizens called up for mobilization are suspended in accordance with Article 215 of the Code of Civil Procedure, if the mobilized person has not stated that the case can be considered without his personal presence. If there is no information about the mobilization, then, most likely, an absentee decision will be issued. That is, the divorce process will not be completed until the end of the mobilization, and everything can be rewound when the party to the process returns home.

If the mobilized man is the initiator of the divorce suit himself, then the court announces the suspension of the proceedings, and it will also resume when the citizen ceases to be mobilized.

It turns out that in order to get a divorce, mobilized Russians need to wait for a decree on demobilization? And then share the jointly acquired property plus earned capital. This is if you go the civilized way. Unfortunately, not everyone is ready and willing to wait. And they don’t always want to bear the hardships of military service with the once beloved person, in contrast to receiving his payments.

Strangers

But everything is clear with the brides: from the point of view of the legislation, they are mobilized – strangers. Therefore, their relations with the suitors, especially financial ones, are directly subject to the Criminal Code. You never know what he promised, and how she was waiting for him – the money is still apart.

“In the case of Ivan Khabin, Olga is his official wife. That is, she certainly had the right to half of his salary (although, of course, not all of it, as she did), but not to a personal social payment. At the same time, it is illegal to take property secretly, in fact, abusing the trust of a loved one, – says military lawyer Alexander Skovorodko. – There are prospects for such a criminal case on fraud. But as far as Ivan himself wants to go to the end, we are still talking about his family and his beloved woman and child.

“I want to see my son, and let him return my payment for the injury,” Ivan stands his ground.

We tried to contact Olga herself. Did something really bad happen to her? After all, Ivan says that she does not answer calls and messages.

However, the woman picked up the phone immediately. I was surprised that my husband reached Moscow. She said she didn’t want to see him again.

“No one kidnapped me. I have a conflict with him. I took the beating. I will no longer live with him.

We have a common family budget. I’m still his legal wife. Everything will be according to the law. In fact, we always had a bad relationship, just while he was a beggar and without money, I was silent. Now I won’t!
