The hacker attack with a capacity of at least 0.5 Tb/s was carried out through a controlled botnet network located in unfriendly countries, the event’s directorate reported. The attackers, as noted, were able to “disturb the correct and stable operation of the portals russia.ru, api.russia.ru, api.games.russia.ru, api.lk.russia.ru, api.lkd.russia.ru and api.lku .russia.ru”.

The attack emphasizes the “grandiosity and enormous consolidating significance of the Russia exhibition at VDNKh,” the event “has no peace” for ill-wishers from the West, and with such “clumsy” actions they only confirm the international status of the exhibition, the report says. Attempts to prevent Russians from learning about their country’s achievements are “doomed to failure,” the event’s management is confident.

“We are seeing tremendous interest in the event from not only Muscovites, but also residents of all corners of our homeland. And senseless efforts to reduce it from abroad only convince us that by holding the Russia exhibition we hit the top ten,” the press service commented.

The exhibition-forum “Russia” starts in Moscow on November 4 and will last until April 12, 2024. The exhibition was previously ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The event is held “in order to demonstrate the most important achievements of the Russian Federation in various sectors of the economy, including industry, energy, agriculture, transport, construction, science and culture,” the presidential decree says.
