To the register of blocked resources of Roskomnadzor introduced website of the international dictionary of sign languages Spread The Sign. The reasons for blocking the site are not stated.
According to Roskomsvoboda (recognized as a foreign agent), the blocking occurred on February 19, but the media drew attention to this the other day: Russian sign language teacher Anton Zalozny wrote about this in X.
When you go to a site with VPN enabled, a dictionary search page opens. At the time of writing, the advertising widget contained a Ukrainian flag and an inscription calling for a stop to hostilities.
The Spread The Sign dictionary was created in 2006 and contained six sign languages. The dictionary contains more than 400 thousand gestures in 44 languages. The dictionary website is administered by the non-profit association “European Sign Language Center” (Sweden).
