Those wishing to say goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II will spend an average of eight hours in line, British authorities said.
At 18:00 local time (20:00 Moscow time), the line, according to British television, stretched for more than 7 kilometers. During the day, the queue was 6.5 kilometers and grew rapidly with every hour.
Members of the British Parliament are reportedly able to say goodbye to the Queen without queuing. In addition, they have the right to bring up to four people with them to the ceremony.
People will be allowed into the hall of the Palace of Westminster, where the farewell ceremony takes place, around the clock until September 19 – the day of the funeral.
