The annual volume of alimony collected by bailiffs has almost quadrupled from 2019 to 2023. Over seven years, more than 217 billion rubles were forcibly recovered, said Dmitry Aristov, director of the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP) of Russia.

“In 2019, alimony was collected for 17 billion rubles, in 2020 – 19 billion rubles, in 2021 – 33 billion rubles, in 2022 – 48 billion rubles,” said Dmitry Aristov at a video conference in the Public Chamber (quote from TASS). It is noted that last year bailiffs collected more than 66 billion rubles.

The director of the FSSP added that “as a result of the work of bailiffs, the collection of alimony is ensured in full or in part in 90% of enforcement proceedings.” At the same time, the balance of unfulfilled alimony proceedings decreased from 845 thousand in 2017 to 748 thousand in 2023.

According to the service, every tenth alimony debtor is not officially employed and leads an antisocial lifestyle. As an example, Dmitry Aristov told how a bailiff in the Tambov region rescued a drunken debtor from a car buried in a snowdrift.

In January, the State Duma proposed to clarify the concept of “interests of the child” within the framework of Art. 57 of the Family Code, concerning the rights of a child who has reached the age of ten, “to express his opinion when deciding in the family any issue affecting his interests.”

How the interests of the child are taken into account when parents divorce – in the publication “Kommersant” “Guide to Childhood”.
