Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said in interview “Kommersant” that since 2023, 15 enterprises in the field of the military-industrial complex (MIC) have been returned to state ownership by court decision. The cost of these enterprises, according to Mr. Krasnov, exceeds 333 billion rubles.

“I would like to emphasize that since 2023, 15 strategic enterprises with a total value of over 333 billion rubles, which were illegally removed from its ownership, and in some cases came under foreign control, have been returned to the ownership of the Russian Federation in court only in the military-industrial complex,” said Igor Krasnov. According to the Prosecutor General, residents of unfriendly states, having received military-industrial complex enterprises bypassing prohibitions, contributed to their destruction and damage to Russia’s defense capability.

Separately, Igor Krasnov emphasized that the return of enterprises to Russian ownership cannot be called deprivatization. “This is an adequate legal response to such illegal facts. Enterprises ended up in private ownership as a result of abuses by their leaders, as well as government authorities, including former governors and former law enforcement officers who did not have the authority to alienate state property,” he concluded.
