The Valdai region team won the regional stage of the winter GTO festival

The regional stage of the winter GTO festival took place in the gym of the central sports arena of Veliky Novgorod. The event was dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the All-Russian physical culture and sports complex “Ready for Labor and Defense.”
Representatives of all municipalities of the region aged from 18 to 54 took part in the starts. Participants fulfilled standards for five types of tests of the complex: shooting from an electronic weapon, swimming at a distance of 50 meters, push-ups, raising the body from a lying position, bending forward from a standing position.
The winner of the competition was the team from the Valdai region. It is noted that today 116 thousand residents of the Novgorod region have joined the movement of the GTO complex. More than 41 thousand have already met the standards and received TRP insignia.
