The Unified State Exam schedule has been published in Russia, including a new retake procedure
Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Federal Service for Supervision in Education published the draft new Unified State Examination 2024 schedule, which provides for the possibility of retaking one subject before the end of the admissions campaign. The corresponding document is available on the official portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
According to the proposed schedule, retakes in a number of subjects, including computer science, social studies, Russian language, physics, chemistry, as well as the written part of the exam in foreign languages, are proposed to be held on July 4. And the retake in biology, geography, basic and specialized level mathematics, history, literature and the oral part of the exam in foreign languages is July 5.
“The draft order was developed as part of the implementation of instructions from the President’s message to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation dated February 29, 2024 and is aimed at providing graduates of secondary educational institutions with the opportunity to retake one of the elective exams to improve their results,” the explanatory note to the document states. Representatives of Rosobrnadzor previously emphasized that if you retake the first exam result, the first result of the exam will be canceled.
In connection with the new procedure, the schedule of the main period of the Unified State Exam for some subjects has been changed. For example, it is proposed to move the physics exam from June 10 to June 4. The oral part of the exam in foreign languages is now scheduled for June 7 and 8 instead of the 17 and 18, simultaneously with computer science. Biology, writing in foreign languages and history will be taken on June 11.
The remaining exams are planned to be held on previously approved dates in 2023: May 23 – geography, literature and chemistry, May 28 – Russian language, May 31 – basic and specialized level mathematics, June 4 – social studies.
