The US Treasury has allowed Americans to pay taxes in Russia until January 31, 2024

The US Treasury Department has again extended authorization allowing Americans to pay taxes, duties and import duties in Russia. General information published on the department’s website license allows such operations to be carried out until January 31, 2024.
The permit is valid for US individuals and legal entities, provided that such transactions are carried out “in the normal course and are necessary for daily activities in the Russian Federation,” the document says. In addition to paying taxes and fees, Americans can also purchase or obtain the necessary permits, licenses, registrations or certificates.
The license does not apply to writing off funds from the accounts of the Bank of Russia, the National Welfare Fund (NWF) or the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
The US Treasury initially issued the license on March 2, 2022, a week after the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine. After this, the document, valid until June 24, 2022, was extended several times. The previous version of the license was released on August 10 and was valid until November 8.
In November 2022, the US Treasury Department allowed individuals and legal entities of the country to participate in operations necessary for the operation of Russian diplomatic missions by issuing the appropriate license.
