Representatives of the Republican Party in the US Senate called on their colleagues in Congress to reject a new request from President Joe Biden for the allocation of another tranche of assistance to Ukraine.
Republicans propose not to approve the request until the US presidential administration presents its strategy for Ukraine. The corresponding letter was prepared by Senators James Vanche and Chip Roy. According to them, Americans “deserve the right to know what their money is being spent on.”
The senators also accuse the White House that the current American support for Kyiv “has no clear timeline, is based on an unclear strategy, pursues a goal that has yet to be formulated.” They also invite the White House to talk about the course of the UAF counteroffensive, as well as a possible resolution of the conflict. Approval of a request for assistance without answers to these questions is called absurd by the authors of the letter.
Earlier, Republican congressmen demanded that US President Joe Biden withdraw a request for new funding for $24 billion in aid to Ukraine. The corresponding letter was signed by 12 congressmen.
