According to the agency Bloomberg, the US government intends to invest about $3.5 billion in the development of Intel Corporation in exchange for the company’s production of semiconductors and other high-tech components for defense needs. The funds will be allocated as part of a new round of funding for the US high-tech industry, the draft of which is currently under consideration by Congress.

Unnamed Bloomberg sources in Congress report that funds for Intel will be allocated by the authorities within three years. The new round of funding is expected to be approved by the US Senate this week.
