On May 3, the US Federal Open Market Committee expectedly raised the key rate by 0.25 percentage points, to a range of 5-5.25%. This is the highest value since 2006. Since the beginning of 2023, the indicator has increased by 75 percentage points: in March and February, the rate was raised twice by 25 percentage points. This increase may be the last in the current cycle of monetary tightening – in its statement, the regulator abandoned the previous signal about the need for further increases rates.
